Ive always been an ardent fan of Mission Impossible series. Not just because of the awe inspiring stunts done by Cruise but coz of the storyline, which seems to be missing in other Action Movies. Mission Impossible has always had the aura that holds viewers towards it. While many film series become quite stale by the time they get to their fourth installment, this movie retains its charm. Youll find MI4 as fresh as MI1. Fresh yet sticking to the tradition! Tradition as in regard to the use of latest gadgets to save the world.
And what comes as a surprise to me is that MI 4 is live-action directional debut of Brad Bird. Not that I doubt on his directorial skills of course I cant as he is the one who gave us flicks like 'Ratatouille' and 'The Incredibles', but cmon its his first and it seems oh-so perfect.
Hold a sec! Im not here to go all gaga over MI series. But Im writing this piece as HBO is soon going to premiere Ghost Protocol on Indian Television on 30th March at 9pm. Yay! Isnt it great!? As soon as I heard about it, I couldnt stop myself from doing a Harlem Shake. Yes, Ive already watched it on big screen but still I would love to catch it again. The reasons are many. But the main reason is the stunt done by Tom Cruise on Burj Khalifa, Dubai. Incredible, that was. Like really. It easily managed to give me goosebumps. And I tell you that happens rare. The other fight shot in the parking lot, Mumbai was also simply amazing. It sure retained the charm. And, yes, the gritty tone of Tom Cruise is definitely a reason. Other than this, when I watched MI4 I had no idea that Jeremy Renner was going to do the signature jump-and-hang-in-air stunt that Tom Cruise did in Mission: Impossible. To my dismay, I realized it quite late. Cant wait to watch that scene again!
I browsed through the schedule of HBO India (on hbosouthasia.com) and I got to know that they frequently telecast flicks like Wrath of the Titans, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Johnny English Reborn. It surely has made it to my favourite channel list for all this and much more that it offers to movie fanatics like me!
For now, cant wait to watch Ghost Protocol on 30th March at 9pm, only on HBO!
