- 1). Locate your state or county office. Contact them by mail, phone or email to request an absentee ballot.
- 2). Request your absentee ballot a minimum of one month prior to the election, if possible. Return the ballot at least one week prior to election to ensure your ballot counts for the election.
- 3). Visit the local office of the political party of your choice. Obtain party information about candidates, volunteer opportunities to aid in political activities, obtain signs and absentee voting ballot.
- 4). Complete the requirements for the absentee request. Return the application to the appropriate facility and wait for your ballot to arrive.
- 5). After receiving your ballot read the instructions. Cast your vote, sign the ballot and return by mail.
