Introduction

This is part 2 of a three part project. Part 1 showed how to make a net beaded star. Part 3 shows how to make the strap.

No matter what type of bottle you use, one star should cover the front of your bottle. If you have a smaller bottle, make smaller stars. If you have a bigger bottle, make bigger stars. The bottle I used for this necklace is about 40mm high and 25mm wide.

Size the Bead Star

1. Before continuing, ensure the star is large enough to cover the bottle. If there is a little room on the sides, that is fine.

Connect Two Bead Stars

2. Now you need to connect the two stars together so you are basically sewing the bottle in between the two stars. First, insert a new thread into one star so it is coming out of one of the points in the star, and thread on 4 beads. (This depends on the size of your beads and bottle. You may need more or less beads to connect the two stars together).
3. Thread the needle through the middle bead in one of the points of your second star.

Pull Thread Tension

4. Pull the thread so the two stars meet with the 4 beads in between them.

5. Snake your needle through some of the beads in your second star and bring it out through your next point.
6. Add on 4 more beads and thread your needle through the next point in your first star. You should have two stars connect at two points.

7. Continue this process of connecting points in the stars. There will be a total of 6 points to connect: 2 at the bottom of the bottle (I used 4 beads at each point), 2 on either side of the bottle (I used 5 beads at each point), and 2 on either side of the neck of the bottle (I used 4 beads at each point). Before you connect your last point (I do the neck last), slip in your bottle.

After this last connection, you now have a bottle sandwiched in between two stars, and you are ready to create a beaded strap for your bottle necklace.
