God Is Great

• A popular prayer of thanksgiving is "God Is Great." This traditional prayer is short and easy to remember. It is recited, "God is great, God is good, and we thank him God for our food; by his hands we must be fed, give us Lord, our daily bread. Amen."

• A fun prayer for children to say before a meal is the Superman prayer. It is sung to the tune of the "Superman" television show's theme song and goes like this: "Thank you Lord, for giving us food. Thank you Lord, for giving us food, for the food that we eat, for the friends that we meet; thank you Lord, for giving us food. Amen. Amen."
