Latest News: Mr H R Bharadwaj, the Governor of Karnataka state the he could ask Chief Minister of Karnataka, led by BJP to prove majority in the house of Karnataka Assembly. Governor mentioned that chief minister Mr Jagdish Shettar is requested to give briefing about status of their strength of support by legislators. In case I find it necessary, I may ask the Chief Minister to prove the strength on floor of the house.
Current News: The Governor, remarked when a delegation of supporters of former chief minister B S Yedurappa, expressing their concern about absence of the speaker K G Bopaiah. Governor wrote a letter to the secretariat of Karnataka Assembly, asking details of travel plan of the speaker.
Thirteen among all the MLA's, planned to quit the assembly session as the speaker is away from the country for a foreign trip. All the thirteen MLAs; however sent their resignations to Bopaiah, the speaker by e mail and requested him to accept their resignation before 28th of January 2013. This is viewed as the game plan of former chief minister Y S Yedurappa, so that the Government led by Jagdish Shettar, land into crisis, before the budget session, which is likely to be held on 8th February 2013. This would be last assembly meeting prior to next assembly election in May 2013.
