Deer have excellent hearing, they can hear you coming from a quarter of a mile away.
Now, what is really keen is their sense of smell, so it makes good sense to de-scent yourself and your equipment as much as possible.
Deer lick their noses constantly to keep it moist, improving their sense of smell.
One whiff of you and those deer are gone.

When your clothes are dry seal them in a scent free storage bag.
Is all this necessary? Well, I do anything I can that can help improve my chances of getting my game.
