Grilled Strip Steaks Marinated With Pepper And CoffeeA Real Dieters Treat

When it comes to losing weight steaks are some of the foods most dieters avoid because of their high fat and protein content. As part of anyones diet both food groups are needed in a well balanced diet. Steaks can still be a great treat for any dieter by choosing the leanest pieces without too much of the fat. Eating steak with vegetables that are low in calorie but high in fiber will do the trick.

Going for grilled foods can help cut down the calories on any meat but these wonderful recipe is a real dieters treat where most of the ingredients will tease the gastronomic ability of anyone. Grilled strip steaks marinated with pepper and coffee is not only an excellent dish for a dieter whos on the lookout in keeping his calorie intake lower but having ingredients that most people enjoy is something to look forward to such as espresso coffee and red wine which is used to marinate the steaks. This delectable dish serves 2 and each serving has less than 500 calories.

Ingredients:

2 strip steaks, about 1-inch thickness, approximately 10 to 12 ounces each
1 cup red wine
3/4 cup freshly brewed espresso or strong black coffee
pinch dried crumbled rosemary
pinch dried crumbled thyme
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 to 3 teaspoons cracked black pepper

Preparation:

Mix the wine and freshly brewed espresso coffee, crumbled rosemary and thyme, teaspoon of ground black pepper, onion and garlic powders and teaspoon of salt in a medium sized box plastic ware. Then add the strip of steaks and make sure that each piece is well coated with the marinade. Cover the plastic ware and refrigerate it between 3 to 4 hours.

Heat the grill at high temperature. Take the marinated steaks and allow the drip back in the plastic box. Then sprinkle the steak strips with cracked pepper depending on how you want it and place them on the grill and cook them for 4 to 6 minutes for each side until done or how you want it done.

Place it in a dish with a lose covering and allow it to rest for about 5 to 10 minutes depending on the thickness of your meat so that the juice will have time to go back to the meat. Serve it hot with vegetables like carrots or green peas. You can either complement it with a glass of red wine or a cool red or amber beer.
