Psoriasis is an autoimmune skin condition that is mainly characterized by the appearance of red flaky patches of skin all over the body. It can be widespread while in some cases, it can only affect a small part of the body. There may be no permanent cure for psoriasis yet, but there are treatments that aim to improve the appearance of the skin and prevent skin flares. 1. Fish oil. Eating foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids such as salmon and tuna can help reduce skin inflammation associated with psoriasis. A word of caution though, don't take fish oil if you're taking blood thinners as it can increase your risk for bleeding.

3. Dead sea salts. Many people find that soaking in dead sea salt and warm water can help alleviate the itching and burning associated with psoriasis. It helps soothe the skin and it's also effective in getting rid of the dead skin flakes as well.
4. Tea tree oil. Tea tree oil has been used for centuries to treat a wide array of skin conditions. When applies to the skin, tea tree oil can help soothe skin and heal irritated skin patches.
5. Water. Drinking lots of plain, clean water can help keep your skin from getting too dry. Dry skin can aggravate psoriasis so it is very important to keep your skin moisturized. Using a humidifier at home is also a good idea especially during the winter season, but if you don't have one, drinking lots of water will do.
