People are just that, people.
Whether they are small or big, black or white, healthy or ill, with or without disabilities, they all need love, attention and respect.
If someone has any disadvantage comparing to others, it does not mean that he is dull or unintelligent.
It just means that he needs to find another ways to make things work for him.
That fact has nothing to do with others.
Others can help if they want but in case that they do not want, the worst possible scenario is to make their life more difficult.
People who turn their heads on the other side when they get in contact with disabled person do not necessarily have to be bad persons.
Many of us would love to help and to communicate to disabled person but we are ashamed because we do not know what to say.
That is exactly the reason why most people help to disabled person only when they are alone rather than when there are many persons present.
When they are alone, even if they say or do something stupid, no one will know.
They will not be embarrassed.
But if there is more than one person involved in situation where disabled person asks for help, each of them will think that the other person can help better than they and disabled person can easily stay without any assistance.
I need to repeat that it does not mean that these persons are bad; it is just instinctively behavior because they have no experience in those kinds of situations.
This problem should be solved by educating people about ways of communicating with disabled persons.
It would be the best if from early years, when children still do not know how to look different people in different way, children are taught in schools about what is normal behavior to not just disabled persons but to all persons.
Different people should be mixed together more often to get used to the fact that all of us are human beings that have a fault.
Someone can have a problem with gossiping and someone with walking.
Both of these two cases need to be accepted by other people.
I can see why is harder to accept an extreme gossiper than someone who have problem with walking.
Gossiping just blows your mind, but point here is to accept everyone so even if you would rather have a coffee and a chat with person in a wheelchair we cannot leave out the gossiper.
Truth is that sometimes, it is more difficult to communicate with someone that we specify as a normal person and much better buddy can be someone in a wheelchair.
