Things To Do In Dublin In 2011

If you are visiting Dublin this year and you're worried that there won't be much to do, you are sorely mistaken.
In fact, there is so much to do that it's a safe bet that you won't find time to do it all.
Just an example of the festivities planned for 2011 include the St.
Patrick's Day parade in March, the Dublin Film Festival in April and the Bloom gardening event in June.
No matter what you're into, you are sure to find a show or an event that suits your tastes and interests.
The Beginning of the Year Dublin is starting off the year right the Five Nations Rugby Tournament, which starts in February.
Even though the tournament goes through April, only two games will be held in Dublin so be sure not to miss it.
In March, you won't want to miss the St.
Patrick's Day Festival, which is of course on March 17th.
Not only is there a St.
Patrick's Day parade the likes you've probably never seen, but there are also street theatres on nearly every corner and numerous other celebrations that will have you partying long into the wee hours.
Summer In June, Dublin is hosting the Bloom garden event, which is held every year in Phoenix Park.
60,000 people flock to this event every year where people show off their prized garden.
There's plenty of delicious food and drink and it's just a great way to spend an afternoon.
In August, the Summer Music Festival runs all month long.
You can view free lunchtime concerts that include traditional and popular music, and you can even view Shakespeare plays in the open air.
The Fall In late September, the All Ireland Football Final is held on the second Sunday at Croke Park, which is popular for Gaelic football.
In October, you could lace up your shoes and participate in the Dublin City Marathon, which trails throughout Dublin and passes many famous landmarks.
If you do decide to participate, you'll be one of thousands who run in this marathon every year.
Winter In November, Dublin hosts the Troy and Train Collector's Fair on the last Sunday.
This is where model cars, dolls, comic books, teddy bears and much more are put on display, traded and sold.
If you want to feel a bit of nostalgia, attend this fair where many people showcase their antique treasures for all in attendance.
You can close the year up by attending Leopardstown Races, which is a four day event and the biggest horse racing event in the country.
Of course, there's also Christmas time celebrations to attend that are sure to put you in the holiday mood.
As you can see, there is so much to do in Dublin this year that it's impossible to list everything.
All you need to do is pick a month, any month, and you'll find something you enjoy.
And if you plan to bring the entire family to Dublin, even the kids, you can relax because they'll find something they like too.
Whether it's gardening, music or it's model trains, there's literally something for everyone in Dublin this year.
