I promised my self to never get disappointed AGAIN in life, and ever since I took this vow and jotted some guiding-principles that have been helping me overcome possible disappointments, my life has being free from letdowns. I think these have tremendously worked for me and I hope the same for you.
I assure you, as you apply these principles, you will experience freedom like never before:
1. Expect people to disappoint you because when you don't, you will end-up being disappointed yourself for "Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall not be disappointed." The best way to overcome fear is to be "fear" yourself.
2. Never think of the other person as the "good" fellow because history has always proven the trustworthy unworthy; is just only for a matter of time. Trust nobody except self! Ride through life with the consciousness that disappointments carves out the best in you!
3. In all that you, do always allow the phlegmatic spirit in you to analyze and criticize realities. Reserved the strength to sustain (like Paul did, see 1 Cor. 16: 5- 9) words likeperhaps, but, I hope to, anyway, may be, if the Lord permits, and etc, because opportunity and opposition are always unexpectedly scheduled.
4. Respect time, be on appointments at scheduled timings because "Politeness is the soul of business", and "life gives twice who gives promptly" – these are natural laws!
5. Whenever the cuddle or ruse of disappointment wants to grip-you never you get exasperated rather smile to its ploy, and always put to mind that "You are too controlled, too clear, and too mature to be angry".
6. Try to know what you need from life and go for it – and not necessarily, what you want. Try to draw a line between your needs and wants because "You can't always get what you want, but, if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need".
7. As you live, always try to live a moral and principled life. Extol the path of virtue — be honest, liable, and tolerable. These factors influence disappointment to act in our favor.
8. For historians, the best way to disappoint disappointments is to know your environment – this is so true! Daniel J. Boorstin explains, I quote, "Never have people been more the masters of their environment. Yet never has a people felt more deceived and disappointed. For never has a people expected so much more than the world could offer."
9. The best way to overcome disappointment is to understand that is just the way of nature. We cannot do without palliative remedies. Nothing under heaven is glowing in her epitome – not even closer. Man they say can only use 5% of his brain – would you imagine? What about the ecological system? We all know that its glow has been shattered.
10. And finally, in all that you do seek God first, show Him your masterplan, allow Him communicate to you and He will perfectly disappear you from dashing hopes.
Nevertheless, even as you consider these principles, always put to heart that "Your life has been a disappointment, as mine has been too. But we haven't gone through this sweat for nothing" — cause is for the perfect end.
