It was Thanksgiving and our baby was just one month old.
I wanted to take some newborn portraits because we really haven't taken any good photos of our baby since she was born.
We have an older daughter too and she wanted to invite her friends too for the party.
I had some left over party supplies from our daughter's birthday party a few years back, but that didn't fit in with the theme we were going to have this year.
However, we were able to get some party supplies for a nice fat discount.
We contacted a photographer who specializes in newborn portraits and got that one settled.
It was a full day session and we were afraid how it would turn out.
Our little girl had beautiful hair and we wanted the photographer to capitalize on that.
But luckily as it would have, the photography session turned out well.
Our baby had to take lot of rest since she would get irritated every 5-10 minutes.
But in between we were able to get some really good photos.
The Thanksgiving party was scheduled for the next day and so there were lots of people in the house.
Our kids had some cousins and friends for the weekend and they were running around the house all the time, and still the photography session went well.
Now for the party.
It was also a very big success.
There is this culture of giving away gifts for people who attend the party.
Though it is extremely popular in the West, it is just getting known in the East.
We bought some gift bags, small ones, of course and filled them some story books, sketch pens and chocolates.
We gifted these bags to the children after the party.
After all, kids always love getting gifts.
If you are thinking that we spent a lot of money buying these goody bags then you are wrong; we got them in bulk and for very cheap rates.
These bags were bought and stored earlier when we got it cheap, so we didn't have to buy it separately when we arranged the party.
You see we had been planning on hosting a Thanksgiving giving party for years now, only things is we didn't have the finances to do so.
But luckily for us, the party wasn't a strain on our finances because we were able to buy all the necessary accessories through online shopping portals.
The kids loved their goody bags; the bags were of different colors and had pictures of their favorite cartoon characters.
