From Wendy: "This dress is one of my all time favorites ~ the base is made from a hand dyed hemp muslin ~ I added a hand embroidery of a dandelion blowing away into the wind ~ with a machine free stitch to do the stem. *free stitching* is one of my signature applications ~ you will see it in most of my work ` I started free stitching as a way to get more detail ~ make my appliqué's look more like drawings & allow for me to draw directly to the fabric making each & every one a unique piece of art.

It is sort of like drawing or painting only instead of a pencil or paint brush I use my machine & gently guide it around to make the design I want."
