- 1). Use chalk to lightly mark out the locations for your studs.
- 2). Make holes for the studs with an X-Acto or similar knife. The studs will not be sharp enough to push through the leather without a pre-cut hole.
- 3). Press the prongs or post of the stud through the small hole you have made.
- 4). Fold the prongs back to secure them to the leather, or screw the back onto the post, depending on the type of studs you have.
- 5). Finish the jacket by repeating these steps for each stud.
