Isn't it funny what makes us think of people we used to know? It's true for loved ones, friends, and even old boyfriends and girlfriends. There was a couple mentioned recently on Yahoo that met in 1978, were together for three weeks, and then broke up. They had a great time, there was no hard feelings, but they went their separate ways and moved on, got married, had children, etc.
One of the things they did during those three weeks was "driving around in her Fiat and spying on Obenhaus' neighbors: Nora Ephron and Carl Bernstein." When Ephron died last year, they thought of each other again.
She looked him up on Facebook (where else?) and sent him a friend request. He accepted it just a few minutes later and said, "So nice to see your name appear. I thought of you and that summer we met when Nora Ephron passed. I have a home not far from where we met and was at Gibson Beach this weekend. I hope we can catch up some day. Life is too short, as they say."
Indeed it is.
The best part? These two married three weeks later. What a love story!
And while I'd normally recommend not to look up an ex on Facebook if you're in a relationship, obviously these two weren't so it worked out great.
Have you ever reconnected with an old friend like this?
