Norwegian Cruises to the Mediterranean

If you're looking to get away for a vacation, Norwegian Cruise Lines offers a variety of itineraries to the Mediterranean. These cruises range in duration, some lasting as few as four days, and others lasting for as long as 22 days. There are a wide variety of destination packages that come in many different price options, so you are bound to find something to fit your budget and vacation schedule.

Destinations

Norwegian Cruise Lines features various ports of call around the Mediterranean both in Europe and northern Africa. If you are interested in a Mediterranean itinerary, you'll want to make sure you'll be able to embark from a location outside the U.S. as many of the ships leave from ports like Rome, Barcelona and Venice. Popular stop-offs for the ships include Athens, Mykonos, Alexandria, Monte Carlo, Florence, Naples and Granada, as well as many others. You'll be able to see more destinations for longer periods if you opt for a longer cruise duration, but even shorter cruises will hit several major ports. Do some research to find out which destinations will be most interesting for you and your family, and narrow down your options accordingly.

There are plenty of options for a quick getaway if you're looking for a couple of days to relax in the sun. If you are looking to spend more time sightseeing in certain ports, or if you simply would enjoy a longer getaway, you'll probably want to opt for a longer cruise. There are nine-day cruises available if you want to tack on a few extra days to your trip, and there are also a variety of 14-day cruises. If you are traveling with children, you might want to opt for a shorter cruise as they may become restless over a longer period of time.

There are a wide variety of price options available on Norwegian Cruises. As with many other cruise lines, the cheapest rooms are located on the interior; these rooms are usually quite small and are without windows. Ocean-view rooms are usually a few hundred dollars steeper in price as they have at least one window or porthole to allow natural light in. Next up on the price ladder is a balcony room, which features a private balcony and is often a bit larger than the previous two options. A suite is the most expensive option as it is the most luxurious accommodation; these rooms often feature several rooms and are ideal for multiple people in a group. Depending on your personal comfort level, you may want to tailor your budget accordingly.

Norwegian offers a kid-friendly Nickelodeon cruise to the Mediterranean. The cruise is a week long and includes a wide variety of kid-approved entertainment. Although this cruise is designed especially with children in mind, many of the cruises offer a range of kid-friendly options and activities to suit children of all ages.
