3 Creative Ideas On How To Recycle Your Old Mattress

Your old mattress should not be discarded right away.
There are so many mattresses in the landfill already.
You would not want to add up to that increasing number by dumping your old bed in the landfill.
So what can you do with your old mattress? Here are a few ideas you would want to try: 1.
Create a make-shift couch and install it close to the windows This might actually require a bit more time and effort but the results are worth it.
You just need to purchase nice upholstery fabric with your choice of design.
You also need scissors, dremel tool, staple gun, sewing machine, thread, needle, clamps and wax.
Make the necessary measurements.
Measure the size of the sitting area.
You can try making an L-shaped sofa.
Make separate sections and merge them together.
Cut the cover of the mattress and remove the padding inside.
Mark the areas you are going to cut off in the box spring.
You need a dremel tool to cut the springs.
Before doing this, you should wear the necessary protection for your eyes and hands.
The next thing you need to do is to cut the wood.
Leave a supporting piece of wood so you can nail it the back part of the sofa.
Install the wood close to the windows and place the foam padding of the mattress on top to initially determine the fit.
If it fits correctly, you can cover the foam with the upholstery fabric.
Use staple gun to attach it.
Connect the foam on top of the wooden structure.
2.
Remove the springs inside and use it for your garden Remove the fabric of the mattress to reveal the springs inside.
Remove the springs or cut them off using the dremel too.
You can use the foams inside to make padding for an ottoman or a small chair for your kid.
