One large wonderful bead can easily become a pendant when you add a little wire wrapping into the jewelry mix. Then you can turn it into a quick necklace by simply slipping it onto a chain, or if you want something a little more involved, use the pendant as the focal point for a bead strung necklace.
For this project, you will need the following materials and supplies:
*1 - 18 inch gold-plated serpentine chain
*1 - 25mm puffed square brown lava bead
12 inches of 21-gauge dead-soft brass or gold-filled wire
2 - 4mm Goldstone beads
Wire cutters
Chain-nosed pliers
Round-nosed pliers
Nylon-nosed pliers
Jeweler's file
*Chain and lava beads are available from Rings & Things.
