- 1). Use the stud finder to locate at least one wall stud near the bathroom sink to ensure that the paper towel holder will be installed securely on the wall. If at least one bracket of the paper towel holder isn't screwed into a stud, the paper towel holder will be easily yanked and ripped from the dry wall. Follow the manufacturer's directions for operating your stud finder. Mark the stud(s) with a pencil on the wall.
- 2). Determine exactly where you wish the paper towel holder to be positioned on the wall, using the known studs as a guide. Stand in front of the sink and reach toward the wall to decide the most convenient location. Mark with the pencil on the wall.
- 3). Use the screwdriver to screw one screw into one hole on the right or left side of the paper towel holder. Screw the screw into the stud.
- 4). Place the level on the top edge of the paper towel holder and position the paper towel holder so it is hanging straight on the wall. A level usually has two positioning marks and a bubble that will center between the two marks when the object you are hanging is straight or even. Mark, with the pencil on the wall, the place where you need to screw the other side of the paper towel holder to ensure that the holder is straight.
- 5). Align your paper towel holder with the mark on the wall and screw the other screw into the hole on the paper towel holder.
- 6). Pull open or back the arms of the paper towel holder and insert the arm ends into the ends of the paper towel roll, or insert the paper towel bar through the paper towel roll and into the holes provided in the arms of the paper towel holder.
