At Harley Cosmetic Group, we perform breast enhancement surgery with silicone and saline implants.
Breast Enhancement surgery:
Usually this surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The surgeon will make surgical incision along with crease on the side of the breast or around areola. The surgeon works through the incision, creating a pocket behind the breast tissue or under the chest muscle to accommodate the breast implant.
It takes about an hour to two hours to complete. After that, incisions are closed using stitches, though bandages, tape and gauze may be applied for support and to assist with healing.
After surgery:
After the surgery surgeon will monitor patient's progress after surgery. Sometimes drainage tubes may be inserted for several days to remove excess fluid. One may feel tired and sore for few days after this surgery. Gauze and surgical dressing will be removed after a certain period then one may switch to a soft cup bra. Sutures that are not dissolvable will be removed in seven to 10 days.
During the first two week patient may experience burning sensation around nipples. Swelling after the surgery may persist for three to five weeks when implants are placed under the breast gland. The swelling after augmentation surgery may continue for three to five weeks with implants placed under the muscle.
Recovery period:
Majority of patients return to work within a few days after this surgery. During the first week patient can expect over sensitiveness to breast.
No heavy lifting, pushing or pulling with the upper body is recommended for at least two weeks after breast augmentation surgery. One should not do any activities that increase heart rate or blood pressure for first two weeks.
In the initial stage scar will appear pink and firm. They will fade eventually by the time.
Risks-
Like all other surgery, there are a number of potential risks.
One of the most common complications is capsular contracture, which occurs when scar around implant tightens, causing woman's breast to feel hard.
Sometimes infections, excessive bleeding may occur, that claims proper treatment and medications. Too much sensitiveness or numb nipples are also possible complications.
In rare cases breast implant may break. If a saline breast implant breaks, the implant will drain completely within few hours and human body will absorb the salt water.
If a silicone implant break, silicone gel may migrate into surrounding tissue. Additional surgeries may require correcting this problem.
Usually Silicone breast implant last up to 10 to 12 years whereas saline implant last for 4 to 5years. After that one need to have additional surgeries to maintain result.
Breast augmentation Cost
Breast augmentation cost may vary depending on which implant is to be used. On an average, it costs around £3,500 to £5,000 depending on complexity of the procedure.
