Organizing a Batman-Themed Birthday Party

Originally created by artist Bob Kane back in 1939, Batman is presently considered as one of the most popular comic book characters in the world these days. The "Dark Knight" has leaped outside the funny pages and has appeared in various media including his own live-action television show, several animated series, video games, and movies. The character can also be found in a wide array of merchandise including action figures, lunch boxes, caps, shirts, throw pillows, and many others.

Both the young and the young-at-heart have become huge fans of Batman throughout the years. In fact, you can surf the internet and you will find many celebrants have chosen to base their birthday theme on the Caped Crusader.

If you are planning to take the same route for you or your son's birthday, here are some ideas to help you get started in the right direction:

Batman Invitations

Of course, every party begins with an invitation. You can go for a store-bought invitation and simply write down the details of your party such as the name of the celebrant as well as the date, time, and venue of the event.

If you are a proficient user of graphic editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, you can create your own invitation and even edit a Batman image so you can place the celebrant's face.

In case you do not have the skills to do that, you can play around with simple ideas too. You can cut out bat-shaped figures from a black cardboard and just use a printer to include all the essential details. Put a Batman sticker and your invitation will be ready to rock.

Batman Party Decors

Naturally, your main goal is to create an atmosphere that will remind party goers of the theme. Try putting up a lifesize Batman standee near the door to welcome your guests. Other than that, you can cut several strips of blue, yellow, and black crepe paper and use them as party streamers.

You can also consider sticking building silhouettes and the famous Bat Signal on the wall. Aside from being a catchy prop, this can be a nice backdrop for taking pictures. To make things more exciting, you can also distribute cheap masks and capes among your guests. Just be sure to play musical scores from the Batman films or cartoon shows in the background!

Batman party plates and cups are easily available from party supply sources too so don't forget to check them out.

Batman Party Favor

For your party favor, you can visit a nearby comic book shop to buy cheap back issues of Batman comics. Speak with the seller, however, if you are having a children's party. Besides, you want to make sure that the copies you distribute are appropriate for the age of the party goers. Take note that there are a lot of Batman comics that are mainly aimed at older readers. Batman coloring books can be perfect for younger children.

You can also give away Batman toys, candies or fruit snacks. Just visit stores in your area and ask them if they have any Batman-themed products.
