- 1). Remove the screws from each end of the blind with a screwdriver. Be careful so you don't break the clip. Remove the clip in the middle and detach the spools from the cord. Lay the blind down on the ground or couch.
- 2). Remove the end caps and slide the bar off the blind and pull the remainder of the cord from the shade. Cut the cord from the spring, using the scissors, and fold 10 yards of cording in half. Loop it around the spring. Tape the spring to the center of the shade with masking tape and lay the cord down the center.
- 3). Slide the metal rod back onto the blind; try to avoid catching the cord. Take the ends of the cord through the eye of the needle and run it through all the holes of the blind. Cross the cords and attach the blind. After crossing the cord, go through some of the holes in the blinds.
- 4). Slide the bar back on to the blinds and attach the end caps. Run the cord through the holes in the end cap and pull it tight so the blind is closed. Extra cord will hang from the bottom.
- 5). Hold the blind partly open and put it back in the window. Attach the clip and replace the screws. Put the blinds in the up position.
- 6). Measure the cord going down the sides of the window, using measuring tape. Be sure there is enough cord to wrap the spool at least three times. Cut off the excess and reattach the spools to the cords. Screw in the spools.
