Seed Beads - What, How, When, Where, Why, and Who

What are seed beads? Seed beads are made from plastic or from glass.
They do vary in sizes from very tiny to a larger sized bead.
They are available in many colors, with or without designs, and shapes.
Acrylic beads and glass beads are essential and necessary for seed beading and making many different types of jewelry projects.
How, when and where they are used:
  1. Spacing
  2. Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, novelty items
  3. Fancy quilts
  4. Costumes
  5. Appliqués
  6. Clothing
  7. Footwear
  8. Fashion accessories of belts, purses, and more
  9. Household projects such as lamp beaded trims, table scarves, and much more.
The first time we see these beads our natural reaction is "These beads are so cute.
" You are enchanted by their cuteness, beauty and their tiny size.
As you remove the cap of the container and the plug gives you a difficult time being withdrawn, be prepared for spillage and they will fly through the air.
Did you have fun picking them up? They are also available pre-strung.
To avoid spillage be careful as you pull or cut the string.
They will fall from your hands and fly through the air or scatter to the floor having you spend much time picking them up; it will never happen again.
For a few minutes, these tiny beauties are not so appealing.
How can you be angry at these tiny beautiful creations? However, your anger will pass as you learn of their many functions.
Why they are used:
  1. They connect and stabilize the distance between two larger beads
  2. They fill the end of the bugle bead hollow to protect the thread from being cut.
  3. They are excellent round buffers to allow flexibility when connecting two straight bugle beads.
  4. Used as protection buffers when connectingto the fastener
  5. Fillers between beads give better balance and a more finished look to the jewelry project
  6. Can be utilized as a filler in a larger bead when the center opening needs to be minimized for thread passage
  7. It is utilized as a stopper at the end of the string
  8. Used in ethnic jewelry as found in the American Indian designs or the African lace necklace
  9. Excellent in needlework craft
Who uses seed beads? Glass and acrylic seed beads are very versatile and they are excellent for jewelry designers and fashion designers to use as a feature or a mainstay in their designs and creations.
Since I use seed beads in both jewelry making and decorating wearable fashions these beads have proven themselves to be very valuable time and time again.
Your seed bead patterns and your style of assembling will define your artistry.
The beads are designed to handle both simple and complex decorator details.
It is you who will bring their beauty to a customer.
