Locksmiths - Their Necessity in Our Lives, and How to Avoid Them

Let me paint a nice picture for you.
You are walking down the street having a wonderful day.
You head down to the coffee shop at the corner, sit down, then enjoy your nice cup O' Joe.
It's about time for you head back home when, all of the sudden, your day takes a turn for the worst.
Your realize your keys are sitting in the change bowl that you keep on the little table in the hallway about 5 feet inside your locked house.
"Oh boy, this is going to be a long day...
," you think to yourself.
That's right, you are locked out! I know everybody in the 20th century has had an experience like this.
Whether its getting locked out of your car, apartment, or house, we all have to call the locksmith, especially if you haven't planned ahead and hid a spare set of keys or left an extra set with your neighbors.
Locksmiths are a pain in the butt! They charge sky high prices.
They take what seems like an eternity to show up at your locked door.
Then they massacre your beautiful mahogany door that you paid a fortune for.
I don't think any of it is good news.
Well, thats why I'm writing this article so that we can avoid seeing the locksmith.
One reason we may see the Locksmith is to get our locks changed.
There's not much we can do to avoid this part of dealing with these guys.
Unless of course we change the lock ourselves! Spending an hour or so to change a lock is a bunch better than paying somebody $200 an hour to do it for you.
If you aren't so "hands on" you are better off providing your own hardware or else you may be paying an inflated price if the lock guys provide it.
The most common reason I think most of us call the lock smith is if we get lock out.
Like I mentioned earlier we can leave an extra set of keys under our doormat or wit hour neighbor.
But, these ideas are not always options, not to mention they are not safe either! If you live in an apartment building with your super leave a set of keys with him or her if they are trustworthy.
I can't do any of these things, I don't even have a window I can climb through! So I have to turn to the art of lock-picking.
I get locked out of my house often so I learned how to pick my lock! Of course any lock picking advice is for personal use only, like for when you forget your keys at home.
I have found that a good set of lock picking tools come in handy when trying to pick a lock.
A nice small one that fits in your pocket or wallet is best.
Or even one that attached to a chain to wear around your neck so you never leave the house without it.
I hope that these tips help you so that you don't ever have to call the lock smith again!
