- 1). Pull back the sole where it has separated from the Ecco shoe upper if the problem is a loose sole or one coming off the shoe. Spread a generous amount of shoe glue around the edge and center of the sole and press it to the Ecco shoe upper. Place two to three C-clamps over the shoe upper and the sole.
- 2). Keep the shoes clamped until the glue has dried. Remove the clamps and test the sole by pulling down from the upper.
- 3). Punch a small hole just below the Ecco shoe string hole if it has been ripped out or torn, rendering it useless. Use the awl to punch in the hole. Reroute the shoelace through the newly punched hole. If you wish to reinforce the hole, push the hole rivet through the newly punched hole and thread the shoelace through the rivet metal.
- 4). Spray down the Ecco shoe with the waterproof spray or wax. Wipe off any excess with the chamois cloth. This restores and repairs cracks on the leather caused by dry weather or continued exposure to wet conditions then drying.
