Thiago will be born soon. Baby number three! We are excited! Our first baby boy! We returned recently from being in another country. My job required us to be there for two months. Our family has been through several transitions (new move, new baby on the way, etc.). When we trained our first daughter, Alaina, potty training seemed easy. It was hard to relate to parents who were struggling. Until...Wendy. What we did with Alaina did NOT work. It seemed as if this process of potty training was going to go on forever.
As a parent I'd like to share with you our experience. My wife was pretty stressed out as she was in her eighth month of pregnancy and we were not been able to train our second daughter to quit using diapers. I was familiar with some e-books that you could buy to get help. My wife wasn't excited about paying for this info. We tried looking for some stuff on the internet but in my experience the advantage of paying is saving you a lot of time. Someone has already done all the hard work of research and has packaged it nicely. So here is what I proposed to her: let's buy it, try it and if doesn't work we'll just ask for a refund.
Here is the great thing about buying an information product through clickbank (the largest retailer for online products on the internet). They are great about sticking to their refund policy. If the product doesn't work for you, all you do is ask for a refund and you get it very quickly.
We looked at several products and the one we bought cost less than ten dollars (what we would pay to go and get coffee). It is written by a mom who has been in our shoes. The thing that I liked about it was how quickly you could implement it. It said something like, take thirty minutes to read this tonight and have your child trained by noon tomorrow. Wow! What a claim! Even if we could train her in a day or two, we'd be happy.
We bought it that night. It took me less than thirty minutes to read (simple stuff, nothing very complicated, but very helpful) and the next morning within the first hour or two she had gone potty three times in the toilet. We were pretty excited! It may be different for each parent but it was worth the try for us and apparently for many other parents as well.
The basic idea is that the whole potty training time is a very fun time! The whole morning it was a playful time. Children learn best through playing. This concept is what helped us the most.
