How Recruiters Should Approach Passive Candidates

You just sent a mail for the recent position you are dealing with to the candidates and there is no response from the same. After few days when you contacted the recruiter you'll find out that either he/she has marked the mail sent by you as a spam or to your surprise you are blocked to send any mail to the candidate. This situation has become quite rampant for the recruiters whenever they call any passive candidate. In order to avoid such kind of encounters the recruiters are advised to follow certain tips while sending the job openings emails.

1) Avoid sending unsolicited mail during work:

You should always keep in mind that when you are at office if someone tries to talk about your personal life how you feel should avoid the situation.

Similarly when you send an email furnishing personal information to a candidate who is working in office how the person will react. You though as a recruiter is doing the correct job but you are also a stranger to that person and no one will give you the accurate information and will push these mails as unread.

2) Facebook should not be used for Posting:

As social media is fast evolving and has become a new medium for acquiring the new talent, the recruiters are now using the medium quite openly and sometimes they forget that the Facebook page of a person is for friends, family and colleagues and not for any stranger to come and post about the job requirement on anyone's Facebook wall. Sometimes a person don't lock or do the customized settings and looking it as an opportunity the recruiters just post the job opportunity on the candidate's Facebook or Linked In profile thus causing you to face blocking.

3)Cold Calls are barriers:

One thing a recruiter/consultant should keep in mind is that preventing cold calls. There are times when the candidate is either sitting in a meeting or is doing something important that prevents him/her to pick the phone and even if he/she picks the call the proper information won't be provided on phone.

In order to avoid this kind of situation the recruiter should first send a proper email to the candidates and should ask for the convenient time for the candidate to discuss about the job opportunity.

Hence if the recruiters want to have the passive candidates for the positions they are handling they should keep in mind the above the tips.
