But yet, I could play an instrumental role on the day that a burglar had planned to rob off my belongings from my home.
And all my belongings are still safe and sound.
I still vividly remember the day - it still feels like yesterday.
It was a late autumn evening.
I had come back from a tour to the East a couple of days back.
And the jet lag was still bad - I kept feeling sleepy right from the early evening which is always the case when you come back from the eastern parts of the world.
I was at the point of dozing off.
Suddenly my mobile phone started to ring.
I nearly disconnected the phone when I realized the truth - it was a call from my security system.
Now, here was the trick - only on the previous day I had installed a motion detector alarm near my garage door.
On the same day that I had come back from my tour, I had heard a horror story - there had been a burglary only three doors away from my home.
It was unbelievable.
I thought my place and neighborhood was extremely peaceful and safe till that point.
But then, when I called my best friend over the phone and talked about this, he informed me that this is nothing new in the slowdown time.
These are not secure times, so he had suggested that I had better be safe too and install an automated watching system.
I had asked, "What is that?" To this he said that it was something that would watch my entrances if I set it on and would trace and alert me on every movement happening at these places.
I thought that installing a motion detector alarm is a good option since it would make me safe.
I had hardly realized that I would get lucky immediately.
The motion detector alarm had let me call the police and catch the guy red-handed within a few more minutes.
In fact, now I recommend everyone to install it today - not everyone would be fortunate enough to install it on the exact previous day that a burglar is targeting them.
