- 1). Draw the letter you seek to cut out on your square of paper. Use capitals, and draw the letter somewhat faintly, as you will erase this original mark later on.
- 2). Using your pencil, trace the shape of the letter about one inch outside the original letter. You can adjust the distance to make the thickness you desire for your block letter.
- 3). Erase the original letter and any other marks that appear inside your block letter.
- 4). Cut out the block letter by carefully cutting along the pencil lines. Turn the paper to cut curves in letters such as "G" and "S."
- 5). Using the X-acto knife, cut out any interior parts of the letter, as for example in letters "A," "B" and "R".
