Google Adwords in Network Marketing

Eventually you will run out of friends and family to contact.
If you want to continue bringing in more people to your network marketing program you will have to advertise.
Don't fall for guaranteed signups, website traffic, or real-time contacts.
You will be paying for something that never converts.
You need to do the advertising yourself and Google AdWords is one of the best ways to advertise to a huge population.
If you do it right, Google AdWords can be very cost effective.
If you don't' know what you are doing, Google will eat your lunch.
With AdWords you only pay for the clicks you get.
More than that, the better your click through rate the less you have to pay for a higher rank on the search page.
Ad placement is done through a bid and your bid is your max pay per click * your click through rate.
The higher your rate the higher your bid and the better your placement is.
An effective Google AdWords campaign has to balance three parts:
  1. Targeting
  2. Effective advertising
  3. Selling to convert
Not everyone who wants to make money is interested in your specific business.
Showing to the wrong target market will reduce your click through rate which increases your cost per click.
Too broad an audience combined with an effective advertising message is even worse because the wrong people will be clicking through to your site.
These people won't sign up and so you just lost the money you paid for their click.
The opposite is also just as bad, a highly targeted audience and the wrong ad message.
These people will click through and find out it isn't what they thought it was from the ad and will back out.
Again you just lost your click money.
Of course once you get the right people to the site under the right impression, your site must convert them or you just lost again.
Targeting:
  • Get rid of lurkers and free-bee junkies.
    Use negative keywords like: -free -kid -click -pay per -envelope -survey
  • Type in your general search phrase at inventory.

    Look for searches that you wouldn't want your ad to show up for and add some negative keywords for those too.
  • Don't use generic search keywords like make money or mlm.
    Use specific ones with quotes like "make money fast" or "mlm home business".
Advertising:
  • Don't use the same ad for everything.
    Make sure the ad fits the target audience.
    For example, don't use the same ad for "make money at home" as you would for "mlm home business"; but you could use the same one for "mlm home business and "mlm opportunity".
  • Make sure part of your search term is in the title so it ends up in bold and make sure it gets their interest.
    The body should also include some search terms and needs to convey a benefit they will get when they get to your site.
  • Tell them what you are doing.
    If you are selling wheat grass, you don't want people who hate wheat grass to click through or you will be wasting your money.
  • Don't waste your ad.
    Use a small easy-to-remember URL in your display.
    That way even if they don't click, later on when they wish they had they can still go to your URL from memory.
    That's a free click.
Here is an example I've used for an MLM audience:
Credit Cards go MLM Learn how to make money with your credit card - {KeyWord: home business MLM} www.
24Million.
com [http://www.
24million.
com?track=adwords_article]
The title catches your eye and has at least part of any MLM search term in it.
The body gives you a benefit - learn something.
The body includes their search phrase or if too big the default "home business MLM".
You know exactly what the business is about - if you are not in to credit cards you won't click and I won't waste money.
Last, the URL is catchy and easy to remember.
Selling:
  • Be real.
    Tell people who you are and why you like what you are doing.
    Don't tell them you made a bunch of money if you just started out.
  • Get some quotes from people who have been successful.
  • Provide some useful additional information or resources that are not available from the generic affiliate site like articles or e-books.
Tracking: The last thing you need to make sure you are doing is tracking your visitors.
You need to know which keywords brought them in, what pages the looked at, and which ones converted.
If you don't track all of that then you are flying blind and wasting money.
