Guide Review - The Expectant Father
The Expectant Father by Armin Brott and Jennifer Ash is an excellent introduction to the process of pregnancy, labor and delivery for any dad. Brott and Ash do a terrific job of making the process understandable and helping an expectant dad know what to expect (besides a baby)!
This book is filled with practical information and advice about all the changes that occur in the expectant father's life: emotional, financial, and physical. The authors use ample personal illustrations, cartoons and other methods of keeping the book lively and engaging.
The authors give great tips on meals, birth plans, selecting obstetricians and pediatricians, among other subjects. The book also goes to great length to dispel many myths concerning fathers and their roles in pregnancy. After all, even though mom gets all the attention, the dad goes through a significant transition as well.
I highly recommend this book for any first time dad! It will make the process of pregnancy, labor and delivery more understandable and make you a better dad for the reading.
