The establishment

Zoysia Sod needs several factors to be correct. First the soil PH preferred is set at 6 to 7. This allows the grass to reach the nutrients found in the soil. When the soil PH gets out of range, then the grass will get discolored, become thin and even die. A person should take the soil PH before planting 3 months before. For acidic soils, spreading of the lime should be done.

Preparing the garden

The garden should not contain any form of weeds and other vegetations before the actual sodding takes place. When preparing the lawn, the place should be watered so that weeds can grow. When this has happened, a pesticide should be sprayed to kill all the weeds. After spraying the pesticides, re application should be carried out. Tilling is recommended within six inches for top soil. This will enable the Zoysia Sod to firmly root.

The correct timing when planting

The Zoysia Sod is mainly planted during the springs up to fall seasons. This will make it go dormant after frosting has occurred. The temperatures in the soil should be around 50 degrees in the spring seasons. Drought and dry periods are not ideal for planting the grass.

The planting

As soon as the Zoysia Sod is delivered, then it should be planted as failure to do so will make the roots to dry and die. This may cause weak root developments after the planting has occurred. If planting might be late for some few hours, then it is recommended that the Zoysia Sod be placed on a shade. At the shade, stacking should be avoided to prevent diseases. When planting, the area around the lawn should be made moist so that the rooting system remains moist to prevent death.
