Question: Can you give me advice on how to handle trailer sway?
We recently upgraded from a pop-up camper to a 24-foot Travel Trailer, and our first trip on the Florida Turnpike was scary. Every time the big truckers sped by us I would almost lose control of my rig. Can you give me advice on how to better handle trailer sway in these situations? My tow vehicle is a Chevy Express Van with a weight distributing hitch and brake controller.
Answer:
Got the sways huh? We tow a pop-up camper with a Dodge Ram 4x4, and we have never had any sway problems nor require any special gear with our rig. It mostly comes down to matching your load to the tow vehicle and using an appropriate hitch setup.
