• Located a short walk from Portree town center, the Cuillin Hills Hotel overlooks the harbor and the Cuillin mountain range. Visitors can walk their dogs around town and into the mountains from the hotel. The hotel itself has 26 rooms, all with flat screen satellite televisions and wireless Internet connection. Glenview Hotel

• The Glenview Hotel is a small, five-room property located between the towns of Portree and Uig. Visitors can pay for bed and breakfast, or bed, breakfast and dinner in the Glenview's small restaurant. Each room has an en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee-making facilities, free mineral water and fruit, wireless Internet access and hair dryers. Visitors are welcome to bring dogs provided they give the proprietors prior notice. From Glenview, visitors and their dogs can hike up the Old Man of Storr, a five-mile walk that takes approximately five hours.

Flodigarry Country House Hotel

• Located in northern Skye, the Flodigarry Country House Hotel has 11 bedrooms in the main house, and a cottage with seven additional bedrooms. Scottish heroine Flora Macdonald, who helped Bonnie Prince Charlie escape to France, once lived in the cottage. The main house has wireless Internet access in all public areas. Each room has tea and coffee-making facilities, complimentary Scottish shortbread, television, telephone and radio. Flodigarry serves a variety of dishes in its bar and restaurant. Dogs are welcome, but you must specify that you wish to bring your dog when booking. Flodigarry does not allow dogs in public areas and owners must bring their own bedding for the dog to sleep on.

Hotel Eilean Iarmain

• The Hotel Eilean Iarmain is in the southern part of Skye. The hotel has a former stable block with four suites, each with a sitting room, bathroom and bedroom. One suite has an additional bedroom with a twin-size bed. The hotel and adjacent Garden House have six bedrooms each. All rooms and suites have tea and coffee-making facilities, complimentary chocolate, shortbread and miniature bottles of whiskey, hair dryers, bath robes and telephones.
