- 1). Open the video editing program on your computer and locate the video file for the anime you wish to extract video clips from. Then import the file into the editing program timeline.
- 2). Find the scenes that match the emotional intensity of the music. Play the AMV music on your media player and put it on repeat. Meanwhile, in the video editing program, play back the anime video on a mute setting. Write down which parts you feel matched up well to each section of the music that is playing.
- 3). Locate the parts of the anime that were incompatible with the music, referring to your notes. Highlight the undesirable sections and delete those clips from the timeline until only the usable clips remain.
- 4). Create a folder for the AMV video clips. Then label and export the video clips from the video editing program into the AMV video clips folder.
- 5). Repeat the video clip creation and exportation procedures until all the necessary clips have been acquired. At that point, the clips will be ready to edit further in the audio post-production process.
