After ten years living in the same house my wife and I were beginning to have a storage problem.
Some was easily remedied, just throw it away.
I had tended to keep all the boxes that came with electrical goods and so on; some of these I kept for packaging but the rest went in the skip.
The garage also had become a dumping ground for this overspill but was by necessity also used for storing the lawnmower, wheelbarrow and garden tools.
It was time to clean up the clutter.
We decided that a small shed would solve our dilemma and could fit nicely into a corner of the yard.
As I'm a bit of a DIY enthusiast I decided to build one myself having already made a storage box in an initial attempt to clean up the clutter earlier in the year.
I'd made the storage box using a set of plans that I had bought off the internet and they included several small shed plans.
Not only were there plans for other woodworking projects but everything from storage boxes to a covered patio! As I did not need to prepare any foundations (already concrete and level) or need a building permit (always check) it was just a matter of buying the wood and fixings.
My set of plans will came with a detailed list of wood cuts and so I was able to get my timber cut to size at the wood yard leaving me just to put it all together.
I had my small shed built and painted in a couple of weekends and our storage problem solved - for a year or two at least.
