- 1). Find discounted tickets on lesser-known travel websites. Websites like Cheap O Air and Cheaptickets.com sell discounted tickets at a fraction of the original cost. Priceline, Hotwire, Travelocity and Expedia have deals on travel and accommodation.
- 2). Search for tickets on business class airline websites. Travel sites like Executive Travel and Open Skies deal only in business travel. Set up a search agent to alert you when the prices go down.
- 3). Contact a travel agent and book business flights through the agency. Continued business with the same agency over time may net some nice benefits. The travel agent will be glad for the repeat and may let you in on a few specials.
- 4). Use frequent flyer miles for free tickets. If purchasing one or more airline tickets the reward miles may be used for the second ticket. Buy one and get one free. Most airlines require that the first passenger's ticket be full fare and the second discounted. Apply for an airline club membership such as American Airline AAdvantage for free flyer miles good for travel anywhere.
- 5). Fly with a smaller airline. Airlines like Ryan Air and JetBlue offer reduced rates for international travel.
- 6). Check in at the airport ticket counter early. Ask the agent if any upgrades or specials are available. Last-minute upgrades may be cheaper because the airline loses money on flights that are not full.
