- 1). Measure the back of the driver's and passenger's seats in your car. Determine how far down you'd like your back seat organizers to hang. (These steps will result in two back seat organizers for optimal organization.)
- 2). Mark the measurements taken of the back of each seat onto the shoe organizer. If your measurement falls into the middle of a shoe slot, mark a few inches shy of the slot so it remains intact. This will likely mean your organizer will wind up a couple of inches narrower than your original measurements.
- 3). Cut the shoe holder on the marked and measured lines. Measure the iron-on bias tape according to the length of the unfinished edges on the shoes holder. Cut according to measurements. Fold over each unfinished edge by about 1/2 inch. Iron the tape onto the folded over edges.
- 4). Locate the grommets affixed to the top of the shoe holder. These were meant to secure a hanger over a closet or bedroom door. Measure and cut a strip of Velcro that is 12 inches longer than the width of the emerging back seat organizer.
- 5). Thread one end of the Velcro through the grommet. (You will be probably be left with one grommet on each holder once you've made your cuts.) Run the Velcro across the top of the organizer and stitch on the opposite side where the other grommet should be located. Leave an equal length of Velcro hanging on either end. Attach the Velcro ends around the front of each head rest to secure the back seat organizer to the car seat.
