- 1). Draw two circles that overlap in the center.
- 2). Label one circle with the first subject title and the other circle with the other subject title. For instance, you might label one circle "Basketball" and one circle "Soccer."
- 3). Write any common characteristics between the two subjects in the center section in which the circles overlap. In this example, you might write "fast paced; involves a lot of running."
- 4). Write characteristics that are specific to one subject in its individual circle. For instance, the Basketball circle might have facts such as, "object is to shoot a ball into a basket; scoring is two points for all shots except those past a certain line, which are three points; five players on the court for each team at a time."
- 5). Write the characteristics that are specific to other subject in the other circle. The Soccer circle could have facts such as, "object is to kick the ball into a goal; usually 11 players on the field for each team at a time; scoring is always one point."
