Everyone wants to have fun and everyone wants to have a good time, but there are things that have to be considered no matter what you are about to do.
Anytime that you are going to be involved in any kind of water sports or similar activities, safety is not always the first thing on anyone's mind but it needs to be.
I know from personal experience how difficult it can be to stop in the middle of your excitement and think about safety.
Your amped and you want to get on the water and start having some fun.
Think of it this way, a few minutes of your time could mean the difference in going home in one piece or going home at all.
Here are some simple things to take into consideration.
Make sure that everyone that is going to be tubing is a strong swimmer.
This is extremely important.
If they are not a strong swimmer, you should make them sit it out until the have the necessary swimming skills.
No one wants to think about it, but accidents happen.
Always wear a life jacket.
There is nothing macho about not wearing one and there is nothing macho about going home in a body bag.
Be smart! Take this into consideration.
You are cruising in your two person tube.
Everything is great and both riders are having a blast.
A careless boater comes to close to you and your riders causing a huge wake, which lifts your riders into the air.
They land back on the water perfectly, but the turbulence caused them to bump heads.
One gets knocked unconscious and falls out of the tube.
Now this most likely would never happen, but just in case you should be prepared.
Wear your life jacket.
Obey all local boating rules and regulations.
These are put in place for your safety, follow them.
Check all of your tow ropes and harnesses for any frays or tears and replace as necessary.
