Jennifer Lyon for those of you who don't know was a contestant on Survivor Palau.
In fact she was a contestant of this show after she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
She finally passed away at the age of 37 years old.
She made it to 4th place on the 2005 Edition of this CBS Reality Show.
Not too long after getting aired on the show, she was told she had stage three breast cancer.
She felt something abormal with her breasts in the summer of 2004, but she ignored it assuming this was just her breast implants.
So she didn't do anything about it and just went on with her life.
This is what she told People Magazine after she was diagnosed with this dilemma.
News of this has really turned the Survivor community upside down.
Austin Carty who briefly dated Jennifer Lyon told US Weekly Magazine that what happened to her was just so sad.
In spite of the odds against her, Jennifer was determined to fight the good fight and spread the message of courage and inspiration wherever she went and to do this with whatever she did.
Johnny Fairplay who is also another Survivor Alumni also told US Weekly Magazine that Jen was a wonderful person.
He also mentioned that he wished that life was as simple as an episode of Survivor.
He also mentioned he would cash in every immunity idol and jury vote to save her life.
Jennifer Lyon was a graduate student from Encino, California when she entered the competition.
After finding out she had cancer, she received chemo as well as a bilateral mastectomy and started becoming proactive in the breast cancer awareness movements.
She led many movements to raise money for the cause, and eventually even opened up a Christmas Tree Lot which all the proceeds from this went to fight breast cancer.
Jennifer Lyon did mention that no one should be afraid to talk about dying and to explore the subject in detail.
I think she can teach all of us how to make a difference out there despite our personal struggles.
She fought the good fight, and will be a huge inspiration to many of us for years to come.
