- 1). Purchase the topical Canesten solution. It will be available as a cream, which can be used for universal fungus infections. The cream comes in a 20g dosage. The pill version is only suitable for yeast infections, but the shampoo can be used exclusively to cure dandruff.
- 2). Wash your hands prior to application. Place a generous amount of the Canesten cream over the area of your skin affected by the fungus. The skin should be clean and dry at the site as well.
- 3). Rub the Canesten cream into the skin until it penetrates the surface. Leave the area uncovered unless your doctor has directed you to place a bandage over the infection.
- 4). Apply the topical antifungal cream twice a day, once in the morning and once before bed. Keep using the medication for two weeks and until you no longer have symptoms of a fungus infection. Symptoms to look for include discomfort, itching and redness at the site.
- 5). Contact your doctor if the infection does not go away within two weeks of using Canesten. You should let him know about the infection prior to treatment as well in case he wants to examine the affected area.
