Proper Wash

While washing does help to prevent acne, it becomes most effective when it is done properly.
This section details the dos and don't s of a washing procedure for the person who wants to prevent acne.
Understand and appreciate the reason that a person with acne must plan to frequently wash his or her face.
The oil on the face can clog pores.
The chemicals on the face can irritate the facial skin.
Those factors help to trigger the appearance of acne.
Suppose you wash your face thoroughly and then cake on lots of cosmetics.
Your clean skin then has little time to enjoy its freedom from harsh chemicals.
You have not performed a proper wash.
A proper wash is done at nighttime, allowing the skin 7 to 8 hours in which to recover from a long period of exposure to oils and chemicals.
That does not mean that someone with acne should avoid washing his or her face in the morning.
Experts on acne recommend that anyone hoping to prevent a flare-up use a mild soap and water on the face two times a day (morning and evening).
There's no point to washing the face repeatedly during the day.
Too much washing can irritate the face.
It is not necessary to use a washcloth on the face.
The removal of chemicals and oil does not require a lot of scrubbing.
A lather created from medicated soap can be applied with the hands, providing one is sure to use clean hands.
Wash the face gently.
If you do want to use a washcloth, be sure to use a clean wash cloth.
Do not forget to rinse the face well, following the use of a medicated soap.
Then do not try to rub the face dry.
That irritates the skin.
Pat the face dry.
If the skin becomes too dry, it will not be ready to soak in any added medication.
After you complete a proper wash, then you are ready to put your chosen acne treatment onto your face.
If you are using an oral antibiotic, then you should still proceed in the proper manner.
If you are a woman, then you will want to use only oil-free make-up.
If you are a man, then you should consult with your doctor about the best routine to follow for removing your facial hairs.
Perhaps that is best done before you proceed with the proper wash.
