How to Take Away a Tan

1). Cover your skin when you are outside or use an umbrella to shield yourself from the sun's rays. The skin will lose its tan naturally with time, but the process is slower if you are in regular contact with sunlight.
2). Wear sunscreen regularly. This will prevent your skin from being affected when you are outdoors. If the skin isn't being exposed to the sun, the tan will go away faster.
3). Rub moisturizer into your tanned skin regularly. This aids the healing process and prevents the skin from drying.
4). Lighten the skin by soaking it with tomato juice, and remove your tan by rubbing it with lemon juice.
5). Apply a light makeup to the tan to cover it up temporarily for a wedding or other social occasion. The success of this depends on your natural skin color and the location and deepness of the tan, and should only be done in limited circumstances.
