Are You Bummed About Being a Stay at Home Mom? Chillax!

I know those days.
I have been there and lived to tell about it.
Those days where you are feeling so unappreciated and exhausted that life is starting to be overwhelming.
It is so bad that you are getting depressed about it.
Chill out.
Let's think about this seriously for a few minutes.
Take a deep breath and regroup your thoughts.
Sure, right now you may not see the big picture.
I'm sure the viewpoint you need is probably hidden somewhere between the dirty diaper and the pile of laundry in the bathroom.
You probably feel like no one appreciates all the stuff that you do.
You feel like you are going unnoticed in a world where you really expected and wanted to make a difference.
In reality, you are making a difference...
a BIG difference; you just don't know it yet.
Consider these things and realize that there many reasons not to feel bummed about being a stay at home mom.
I understand that sometimes you are so tired that it is pretty impossible to get a clear view of the situation.
I know how depressing it is when you can't find the solace you need even when you talk to people who you think are going to help you feel better about yourself.
Probably those people don't make you feel better about yourself.
One thing I discovered about being a stay at home mom is that a lot of the time the only person you can count on is yourself! That's because most other people don't get it! They can't grasp the importance and the value of the job you are doing.
Many times I found that women were my own worst enemy.
It seems that the women who looked down on me the most were the women with high paying careers that would go to work outside the home.
So often they made me feel like I was worthless because I was not bringing home a paycheck.
They also have this mindset that since they bring home paychecks they can go shopping and buy themselves things whenever they want.
They don't feel bad about spending money on themselves and they don't feel bad about leaving their children and their home for the day to go shopping.
Why should they? They are still going to be gone less time than they are gone when they are working at a full time job outside the home.
A stay at home mom doesn't do that.
As a stay at home mom you are much more budget conscious.
You are certainly not going shopping to buy yourself things.
(Who wants more things anyway? Where is the value in that?) You don't want to be gone from your children and your home all day.
You are in a position which you are growing yourself.
You are learning how to be more organized, more patient and more flexible.
You are learning how to be more caring of others, more frugal in living and more precise in word and deed.
You are learning MORE so that you can be LESS.
Get it? MORE = LESS.
The MORE that you learn the LESS selfish you are.
