- 1). Organize your notes and materials throughout the course. It is much easier to study when you have everything you need in one place.
- 2). Take legible notes during class. Review them soon after and add any information you may not have included. Highlight the important areas of the material. When reviewing notes or passages, the highlighted section can jog the memory and give visualization clues.
- 3). Fill in any study guides that the instructor may hand out. Many times the teacher use the questions from the study guides on the test. Review your answers with others in the class to make sure that you are on the right track.
- 4). Organize a study group. Others may have pertinent information that you missed and vice versa. Also, it gives you a chance to hear the material again.
- 5). Schedule adequate time for study. Don't wait until the last week of the course to start reading nine weeks worth of material.
- 6). Eat a normal breakfast on the day of the test. Thinking requires energy.
- 7). Relax. Take calm, soothing breaths if you feel anxiety starting to take over. Think of memories that calm you down and then return to your test.
