Guide Review - Aden + Anais Muslin Baby Wrap
A lot of baby blankets claim to be multi-purpose. The muslin baby wrap from Aden + Anais blows most multi-purpose baby blankets out of the water. The owners of Aden + Anais are two Australian moms who moved to the U.S. and were surprised that muslin baby wraps are not incredibly common in the U.S. as they are in Australia. After enlisting friends and family to send them muslin blankets from Australia, these moms decided to be their own source for the wraps they wanted for their new babies.
After seeing the Aden + Anais muslin blankets in person, I can see why the Aussies love these wraps so much!
The single layer Aden + Anais muslin wrap is super-light and airy. The fabric is breathable and incredibly soft. It keeps a chill off baby when used as a blanket or swaddle wrap, but allows enough air through that baby shouldn't get hot, even in warmer weather. The size is great for swaddling, too - these wraps are 44 inches square.
In addition to using these blankets for naps and swaddling, Aden + Anais muslin wraps are also nice for throwing over a stroller as a temporary sun-shade, giving baby a clean play space on the ground, making a temporary diaper change station, or covering up an easily distracted baby while nursing. One of the owners of Aden + Anais even admitted she uses one of these muslin blankets to wipe up baby messes on the go.
Though this blanket does it all with style, it's no diva when it comes to washing. Aden + Anais muslin baby wraps can be machine washed and dried, and they only get softer the more they're washed.
Aden + Anais blankets come in two-packs and four-packs, so you'll always have a spare if one is in the wash. These multi-purpose baby blankets are great as a nursery staple, and they've become my favorite baby shower gift to give to friends.
A multi-layer wrap called the Dream Blanket, is available for extra warmth in cooler weather. I recently put my son to sleep on the living room floor on a Dream Blanket. While he was sleeping, he leaked through his diaper. The blanket was thick enough that none of the mess reached the carpet, and all I had to do to clean up was throw the blanket in the wash. These blankets definitely aren't just for looks!
