Smoking and Dry Itchy Eyes

There are many, many reasons why you shouldn't smoke.
Certain cancers and a decrease in physical health are just a couple of reasons.
But most people don't realize that smoking can also cause symptoms associated with dry eye syndrome.
If you have dry itchy eyes and you are a smoker, you may want to consider quitting the habit.
Dry itchy eyes are incredibly uncomfortable.
In fact, about 33 million Americans across the country experience different symptoms of dry eye syndrome every day.
These symptoms include eye pain, extreme redness, itchiness, excessive tearing, and even blurred vision.
Much like many other eye conditions, dry itchy eyes are often related to health conditions in the rest of the body.
If you are a smoker and you have dry eye syndrome, your body is telling you to stop smoking! Your condition will be even worse if you also work in an office building, work on a computer for most of the day, or are over the age of 50.
In addition to putting out the cigarette, taking adequate breaks from your computer, or wearing sunglasses when you are out in the sun - you can get some relief from your dry itchy eyes by using artificial tears.
Artificial tears are made of a solution that is similar to that of a natural tear.
The solution helps to ease your dry itchy eyes, soothe the irritation, and get rid of the redness.
Artificial tears can help your eyes get back to normal either by using a single dose, or by using multiple doses over a period of time.
Artificial tears are a mainstay in treating a host of eye conditions, but most people are confused about the best ones to use.
