- Many wall oven brands recommend that you place the oven in a cavity that is at least 32 inches from the floor. However, this is only recommended for convenience. Placing the oven at this height will enable you to pull food from it without having to bend over or lift up too high.
- Placing the wall oven under the counter is possible. This placement is very similar to a normal oven, but putting it in the cavity and then placing a drop-in range top in the counter over the oven lends itself to modern and contemporary decor. This option, however, tends to be more expensive as you have to purchase both the rangetop and the wall oven and you will need to custom cut the counter and cabinets.
- The wall oven does have installation requirements that must be met. The wall oven should always be at least 1 inch from the top of the counter and from any other appliances. This will help keep both the oven and the stovetop working efficiently.
- Wall ovens are intended to be suspended into a cabinet cavity. Placing it close to the floor will require you to place a platform that will raise the oven and support its weight. This platform should be at least 3/4 inch to accommodate a standard 36-inch counter height. The platform should also be able to withstand 225 pounds.
