- 1). Visit Upper Perkiomen Valley Park, consisting of 600 acres in Upper Frederick Township and including Deep Creek and Knight Lakes, both of which offer boating, rainbow trout fishing, and overnight camping. In winter, you can enjoy ice skating, cross-country skiing and sledding and ice fishing. Year-round the miles of trails are open to hikers and equestrians. Visit Central Perkiomen Park, which includes 500 and a trail system, a pavilion for picnicking, shuffle board and fishing.
- 2). Visit Lower Perkiomen Valley Park, which includes 107 acres in the southernmost section of Upper Providence Township. Enjoy concerts, basketball, softball, playgrounds, creek fishing and ice skating. Visit Norristown Farm Park, a fully operational farm on 700 acres. The farm includes miles of trails for walking, hiking and biking. Visit Upper Schuylkill Valley Park and Wildlife Center in Upper Providence Township, with 150 acres of wild animals and raptors indigenous to Pennsylvania.
- 3). Visit Lorimer Park, a 225-acre urban park in Abington Township, offering a year-round wildlife sanctuary, a large number of tree species and ice skating at Pennypack Creek along with trails and lots of activities for kids.
- 4). Go to Pennypacker Mills, a colonial revival mansion located on 135 acres in Perkiomen Township, including a farm and original decorative detail. Then visit Pottsgrove Manor built in 1752 and Norristown Farm Park, a historical and fully operational farm on 700 acres. There you can see wildlife including deer, red fox and other animals and bird species in this unique setting.
- 5). Visit Green Lane Reservoir Park in Upper Hanover and Marlborough Townships, which includes 2,400 acres surrounding the reservoir lake, stocked with bass, trout and pike. Go boating or enjoy miles of nature trails.
